The Car Bed

Dylan is very tall for his age, but he never climbed out of his crib like many other kids do (he is nearly 3). So, we kept him in it, but he had gotten so tall it seemed a little unfair as he was nearly the length of the crib. We decided that as soon as they got the new flooring in Dylan's room we would replace his car with a bed. While we were on one of our regular trips to Home Depot we were in the paint isle trying to pick interior paint colors when Dylan spotted it. There was a brochure on how to do your kid's room in a car theme complete with a car bed. Now, Dylan is OBSESSED with cars, but Lynda also meticulously painted his room while I was pregnant with him with ocean waves for a surfer theme that we were not anxious to see go. Everytime we started to prepare him for getting a bed or we talked about beds he said "car bed?!" He actually had the brochure from Home Depot and would look at it and talk about his car room in his car house. The solution is the "surfer car theme" you see in the pictures. We surprised him with the bed and he was thrilled.
